It all began here with the invention of America's first horseless carriage by Elwood Haynes in 1894. Mr. Haynes is also known for inventing stainless steel and an alloy used in the space program today called stellite. Take a look at his life and contributions to science at the Elwood Haynes Museum housed in this former residence. Group tours are available by appointment.
